Drew’s Winter Home Ideas
Winter is almost upon us, and that means it is time to do some of the things that help your home make winter a bit easier. We at Drew’s Roofing and Home Repair have a list of a few things to check on as we move into the cold months. Remember – there is no job too small for us to handle for you. We are always ready and willing to lend a helping hand when you need it.
Furnace Filter
This you can do yourself, and filters should be changed monthly, especially in the wintertime.
Driveway Cracks
Sealing driveway cracks is important as snow and water can make cracks worse.
Gutter cleaning
Fall leaves have probably left all sorts of leaves in your gutters. Let us at Drew’s come and clean out your gutters for you. It is much safer in the long run for you.
Remove Hoses
Water stays in a water hose even if you are not using it. Taking them off and storing them means you will not have to worry about busted hoses in the spring.
Insulation Check
We can come and do an insulation inspection for you. Proper insulation keeps cold in the summer and warm in the winter.
Air Leaks
This is a major cause of loss of energy efficiency. Proper weather stripping helps keep energy bills low and condensation at a minimum.
Discourage Pests
Check the outside of your home for cracks and holes. This is an ideal entry point for all sorts of pests and critters that can make your winter less than desireable.
Trim Branches
Pruning trees and shrubs is always best done in the winter when the sap runs down. This also encourages new growth in the spring.
This is a fairly long list of suggestions, but it is in no way exhaustive. Drew’s Roofing and Home Repair are always willing to come out to your home and do inspections and make recommendations for your home’s improvement. Contact us if you have any home repair, roofing or handyman needs. We look forward to your business.
