Hello to you, This is Guy in northeast Fla. I have a older mobil home, Instead of the rubber on the insulation board, can i just put shingles. Seems to me the shingles would last longer in the heat of the Fla. sun. Or would that be to much weight? Thank you for your time.
Saw your video on replacing windows in mobile home. What brand of windows did you used and how can I find them? Any information would be helpful. Thanks a bunch!
Hi,
I just saw your video!! I was looking for an alternative source of roof repair for my mobile home. As I have already filed a claim with insurance and got someone to repair my roof my it still leaks and guy won’t answer my calls and i have no money to sue him. I am in Conyers GA. any chance you guys do work in GA. I am interested in a rubber roof.
Thanks
Pat
I saw your video on the mobile home roof defect and I can’t believe this! I’ve been fighting with insurance for years over this exact same problem. I had a new shingle roof installed after Katrina and it worked for about a couple of years and now its doing the same thing. To hear you say its a manufacturing defect is what I herd from my roofer in 2005 but my then insurance Allstate would not help me. In fact they treated me as if I were a second rate home owner because I lived in a mobile home. Allstate is nowhere to be found now here in Mobile Alabama because of hurricane Katrina. I still have the problem. Looking for metal roofing I came across your video. Do you think my problem is still approachable through insurance or the manufacturer? I’m sure the walls must be damaged by now.
Thank you for your video,
Frank Gardner
Drew,
Have been watching the videos and was interested in roof repair in Oregon. Do you recommend rubber roofs in any of the US or is there another type that goes well with the cold and rain? Our home is pit set and would like to do some replumbing. Is that a DIY project or should it be left to the big boys. Who would you recommend as repair specialists in the Portland, Oregon area. Better yet what should it cost me in roof repair and replumbing? Really appreciate the videos and the how well you do your work.
Kind regards,
Joe
Drew, like your videos on you-tube (learned a lot)….I have a park model home (40X12)with an overhang (screen aluminum porch) attached to a cabin…Apparently the previous owner put in a new roof several years back…..My place is in Cleveland GA in an RV resort…Do you recommend any contractor in the area or would your company be interested in doing the work? Thanks
Mr. Guy
Without seeing the home it’d be hard for me to tell; however, rubber roofing in my opinion would be the better way to go.
Laurie,
We use Atrium new construction windows when we install them in a mobile home.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Pat,
Where in Georgia do you live? One never knows–we may be able to help you.
Give us call. (910) 845-2207
Walter,
I am not sure if its still under warranty with the manufacturer; however, it might be something you want to pursue.
Hope this helps.
Joe,
I don’t know of anybody in Portland that I can recommend. I am currently working on a database of roofers that I recommend but haven’t got to the western states yet. Rubber roofing works well in any climate.
Thanks
Drew
Ramon,
I don’t know of any contractor in Cleveland that I can recommend.
Hello Andrew,
I live in a mobile home that needs roof repair asap. We came across your videos and I’m so glad you uploaded your work. Thank you!
Last week it rained for an entire day and it really did do some damage. Rumor has it, we will get rain twice this week and let me tell you the thought of rain terrifies me.
I need your help please. If you were here we would definitely hire you we live in Arizona. I feel confident after watching your videos. We decided to do the repair on our own. Can you please tell me what size of plywood to use? We live in a 1979 mobile home. Also, where do we buy the EPDM rubber?
Thank you,
Marzy
Marzy,
I believe I answered this via email. I hope you got your problems fixed and if we lived in Arizona–I could definitely help you.
Drew
We spoke today, 1-24-14, and your advice lifted the huge weight off my shoulders. It’s cold in Concord, NH and the advice you gave me will ensure that next winter this home will be leak free and a whole lot warmer! Thank you man. You need your own show so you can go to different states and do mobile home rehabs. Start with mine! Once again thank you very much. I’ll update you in the spring when I can start working on the windows and roof. I’ll video record it and post it so you can have a good laugh at my craftsmanship.
